France Wins Individual Eventing Gold - USA Wins Team Gold

Forty-eight year old Jean Teulere and Espoir de la Mare became France’s first ever Eventing World Champion Sunday, 15th September. In an immensely close competition, that was not decided until the last competitor finished the show jumping, the American Team (175.40) retained their overnight position making them World Champions for the first time in over a decade.

Olympic Ferro Retired from Freestyle

Coby Van Baalen of the Netherlands had to retire her impressive black stallion Olympic Ferro for the Freestyle that concludes the World Championship in Dressage at WEG Jerez 2002 on Sunday.

van Baalen was ranked 12th going into the Freestyle, the top placing for the three Dutch qualifiers going into the Final.
