Deryol Andrews Named 2004 Dressage Canada Owner of the Year
Deryol Andrews of British Columbia has been named Dressage Canada's Owner of the Year for 2004. In its second year, the award recognizes outstanding contributions and support to the sport within Canada. Andrews was recognized at a special presentation made during the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Friday November 11 in Toronto Ontario. The award was doubly sweet as Andrew’s horse, the impressive 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood Mark, had just won the Canadian League World Cup Finals and Dressage Canada Grand Prix Freestyle Championships with rider Leslie Reid.

Lars Petersen And Dansko’s Success Win Grand Prix at Dressssage At The 121st National Horse Show
Denmark’s Lars Petersen, 39, of Wellington, Florida, aboard his long-time partner Dansko’s Success successfully defended his Grand Prix title at the 3rd Annual Dressage At The National At The 121st National Horse Show & Family Festival today. Petersen earned a score of 72.292% from judges Lorraine MacDonald and Jeanne McDonald to top a class of 12 horses.
Anky Gives Birth to Baby Boy
2004 Olympic Dressage Gold Medalist Anky van Grunsven, who was already 4 months pregnant when winning her Gold in Athens, has given birth to a baby boy. van Grunsven was hospitalized November 22nd due to complications resulting from her pregancy. At 10:30am the next morning, Holland's most decorated dressage rider gave birth 2 months prematurely to Yannick Janssen van Grunsven who weighs in at a mere 830 grams. Reports say that both mother and son are doing well but will be staying in hospital for an undertermined length of time. Well wishes can be sent to:
