Excitement Continues in Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series Following September Events

The 2002 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series saw eight exciting member events in September – five in the East Conference and three in the West Conference. The Series kicked off in February and runs through December, culminating in its first-ever Year-End Championship to be held at the National Horse Show.

Kristy McCormack, 18, of Cape May Courthouse, NJ, took top honors in the 2002 BET/United States Equestrian Team (USET) Show Jumping Talent Search Final-East, held at the USET Headquarters and Olympic Training Center in Gladstone, NJ, October 5-6.


2002 Jump Canada Bursary Winners Announced

The Jump Canada Bursary Committee has awarded bursaries of $1,000 each to five riders who have demonstrated a dedication to their sport and to their continuing education.


Cocu and Cone Win at Caledon National May 20, 2002

With snowflakes in the air, Mac Cone and Cocu put in a double-clear to win the $30,000 Caledon National Grand Prix on May 20 at the Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave, Ontario. Cone, born in Tennessee but a Canadian citizen for many years now, has the unique distinction of having ridden for both the U.S. and Canadian Equestrian Teams. Cocu, an energetic Dutch warmblood mare owned by Cone’s Southern Ways Stables, seems to get better each time she enters the ring.

The New Marshall & Sterling League announced today that Home Box Office (HBO), America's leading premium television network, has become the title sponsor of the League's Junior Medal Class to be introduced in 2003. The class will be called the HBO Junior Medal.


Tim Grubb Follow-Up Clinic at York Equestrian Centre

Due to the overwhelming success of Tim’s clinic in November we are very pleased to announce that we will be hosting a follow–up clinic for those riders who would like to build on the skills and exercises they began working on with Tim. Leslie Howard of Westport, CT, will be competing in the Top Ten Final at
CSI-W Geneva, Switzerland, December 12 - 15, 2002, rated as the best indoor
show of the season.


USET Names Lauren Hough November Athlete of the Month

Sydney Olympian Lauren Hough of Wellington, FL was named United States Equestrian Team (USET) Athlete of the Month for November for winning the $100,000 National Horse Show Jumper Championship on the final day of the 119th annual National Horse Show in Wellington, FL.
