Miscongeniality Captures The NAL Childrens Hunter Final

Source :  NAL

Callie Schott 16, of Versailles, Kentucky, won the $10,000 North American League Children’s Hunter Final riding Miscongeniality, at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. The Reserve Champion was Oh So Sweet, owned and ridden by Tracey Mack of Noank, Connecticut.

Schott and Miscongeniality received the highest score in both rounds to capture the prestigious victory, a difficult feat for the six-year-old mare.

“I was thrilled to win”, said Schott. “I think this is the best my mare has ever done. Usually she does well in only one round, but this time she held it together for both.”

The Lexington High School Junior barely had time to collect her ribbon before catching a plane home to take the PSAT college preparation test, but she was happy to be part of the North American League Finals. “I really like the NAL”, said Schott. “It’s a really nice way for ‘Children’s’ riders to compete at Harrisburg.”

The North American League (NAL) runs season long series in six hunter jumper divisions – Children’s Hunter, Children’s Jumper, Adult Hunter, Adult Jumper, Pony Jumper and Open Jumper Speed. Each series culminates with a championship final at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg, PA in October. Riders need not be members of the NAL to compete in any qualifying classes, but only current members earn points toward year-end finals.
